Description:This position is a key leadership role at the store level.  This position is obviously responsible for store operations, but also for addressing employee relation aspects, for building customer relationships and effectively handling and customer concerns, and ensuring employee training and development is on track for store employees.  This position will act as the manager-on-duty in the store director's absence and will be asked to support the director in implementing initiatives set by the corporate office.
Duties:Key areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, the following:1.  Assist the store director in managing daily store operations.2.  Act in the place of the store director as needed.3.  Participate in merchandising plans, sales promotions, and other programs to promote a healthy bottom line.4.  Resolve customer concerns as needed.5.  Intervene in employee relations areas, such as coaching, talent development, and corrective actions.6.  Hire, train and schedule employees to fit store needs.7.  Count and record merchandise items for accurate inventory management. 8.  Provide proactive quality control throughout the store.  9.  Monitor sales and profit/loss statements under store director supervision.
Qualifications:1.  Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required due to high levels of customer and employee interaction. 2.  Strong skills in the areas of motivating others and building strong, productive teams. 3.Must be able to maintain a polite, professional demeanor in all workplace encounters with customers and employees. 4. High school diploma is required 5. Required 3-5 years previous experience in a management role in a retail setting .  6.  Among other physical requirements listed in a full job description, applicants must be able to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs. during a shift, walk and stand for long periods, and bend/squat all the way to the floor at times.
