| Description: | Assist pharmacist(s) in processing prescriptions, provision of friendly customer service, and assisting in maintaining an orderly, clean pharmacy department |
| Duties: | Assure phones are answered during normal business hours, screening calls for those that require a pharmacist’s response (i.e., new Rx’s, medication questions/recommendations, etc.).Receive new prescriptions from walk in customers at the drop off window, recording patient specific information necessary to begin processing and billing prescriptions, including offering patient privacy notice and collecting signature on log, if applicable.Organize and store written prescription forms after prescriptions are dispensed.General computer data entry. Prepare prescriptions for dispensing (i.e., retrieving stock bottles, counting tablets, pouring liquids, etc.).Tracking of pharmacy department supplies, reordering/restocking as needed.Receive wholesaler order (unpack/sticker/file invoices, etc.)Ring customer purchases into cash register Perform routine housekeeping duties (trash, clutter, wiping counter, etc,).Return stock medicine containers to appropriate shelf.Help customers find products in the store, taking them to requested items near the pharmacy department and providing them location information for peripheral department items.Internal Contacts: Works closely with pharmacist(s) on duty. Assists other store personnel when needed.External Contacts: Works with patients, caregivers, physician’s offices and pharmacy suppliers to help provide quality pharmacy services to the community. |
